Jennie Cruse

Jennie Cruse makes beautiful music. Of that there can be no doubt. You might even have heard one of her tunes in the British indie film ‘Everything’ [which starred Ray Winstone]. For a while now Jennie has been working on her debut solo album. We’re privileged to have heard the whole record and can’t wait for it to be finished [co-collaborator Tom Ingleby is currently putting the finishing touches to the mixes]. Jennie Cruse – Human

There are traces of Brian Wilson, Dusty Springfield and John Barry in the melodies, but the production is modern and makes us think of Goldfrapp and Portishead. And that’s a great blend of influences!

During 2010, Jennie sang on the third Villareal album before heading off to New Zealand for a series of songwriting collaborations. Some of these compositions are now being used in film soundtracks [watch out for the UK release of ‘The Curry Munchers’] , so we think 2011 could be a very interesting year for Numbskull HQ’s favourite chanteuse!
